This Is What Kajol Has To Say About The Nepotism Debate In Bollywood
The accusations and explanations of nepotism have become de rigueur in Bollywood circles these days.

Be it the chants of ‘Nepotism Rocks’ at IIFA or the apologies which followed, it has become a buzz word.

And the question was posed to Kajol today.

Kajol herself comes from a family which is a part of Bollywood’s elite (Kajol’s mother is Tanuja, her aunt is Nutan and her grandmother is Shobhna Samarth).

Kajol tried to laugh it off but the questioning continued and here is what she had to say:  “I think it is a moot point. It is a debate brought on by two personalities who have decided to quote, unquote each other. Every child wants to grow up and be like their parents, I think lawyers’ children want to grow up and become lawyers, sometimes doctors’ children want to grow up and become lawyers. Sometimes a lawyer’s child becomes a doctor and sometimes lawyers’ and doctors’ children become actors. It is an open world and an open space; anyone can become anything they want to be. The film industry in particular is known to have people who have succeeded because of their talent and sheer hard work.”

Kajol also said that she is not planning her daughter Nysa and son Yug’s careers.

“I am not planning their careers. I just hope to give them the tools to pursue happiness in their lives,” said Kajol.
