Twinkle Khanna Takes A Dig At BJP’s Suraj Pal Amu’s Offer Of Rs 10 Cr To Behead Deepika Padukone
Twinkle Khanna is not known to mince her words. Time and again, she has stood by for what she thinks is right. The latest to find space in her blog is the hottest controversy of the year - Padmavati.

Haryana BJP leader Suraj Pal Amu had offered a bounty of Rs 10 crore for beheading Deepika Padukone. The reason for the same as he mentioned was Deepika's portrayal of Rani Padmavati in the upcoming Sanjay Leela Bhansali film.

In response Twinkle wrote, “The silver lining to my sleep-deprived cloud is that at least I get some quiet time to acclimatize my brain as well as my body to India’s boiling climate where people are busy offering bounties: Rs 25,000 to blacken Kamal Haasan’s face, cut Farooq Abdullah’s tongue and earn Rs 21 lakh, a slap across Lalu’s son’s face could score you a cool crore and finally, of course, from Haryana BJP’s Suraj Pal Amu, a grand prize of Rs 10 crore for beheading Deepika Padukone (sic)."

Twinkle goes on to add, "If I had no sense of humour, I would long ago have committed suicide (sic)."

In her inimitable style, she also says, "I quickly shoot off an email to Mr Suraj Pal Amu…‘Dear Sir ji, It is lovely that you are supporting your party’s claims that the Indian economy is booming by offering such generous payment terms. I did have a question though before I apply for the job, is the beheading fee of 10 crore inclusive of GST?’ Toodles, T (sic).”

Shahid Kapoor-Deepika Padukone-Ranveer Singh starrer Padmavati was scheduled to hit theatres on December 1, but now it has been postponed.

There could be 3 prime reasons for the postponement - the Gujarat elections, an incomplete film or the censor board. Tentatively, the film will now hit theatres on the Valentine's Day weekend.
