They have been facing flak for jetting off to the Maldives, amid the Janta Curfew. A section of Netizens were furious that as restrictions have been announced to help control the spread of Coronavirus, celebrities have been going off to enjoy their vacation. Now, as Varun Dhawan and Natasha Dalal were spotted at the Mumbai airport, a netizen assumed that the two had been on a vacation amid the pandemic, and slammed Varun for the same. Varun however, set the record straight.
Varun Dhawan returned to Mumbai after wrapping up the schedule of his upcoming film Bhediya in Arunachal Pradesh. He was spotted by the paparazzi at the Mumbai airport, with his wife Natasha Dalal. In the video, he can be seen schooling paparazzi to maintain social distance, and asked them to wear their masks properly. One social media user, unaware that Varun was returning after fulfilling his work commitment, slammed him and accused him of holidaying with his wife amid the pandemic. The Netizen asked Varun to ‘stop showing his privilege’. “You went out for a vacay and gave paps the chance to snap, now you come back and complain. Stop over showing your privilege when people in your country are dying,” wrote the social media user.
Varun Dhawan hit back at the accusation, and wrote, “Well, your assumption is wrong. I was shooting my film and not on holiday. And what do you mean 'Gave them a chance?' How do you not give them a chance? I have people who have also lost their life in covid. So please keep ur assumptions to yourself.”
On the professional front, Varun Dhawan will be seen next in Bhediya, which also stars Kriti Sanon.
