Bollywood never ceases to amaze us, quite literally! The world, at present, is undergoing the coronavirus scare, with several countries getting locked down. India itself has registered more than 80 plus cases and politicians across several parts of the country have announced shutting down of schools, colleges, theatres, malls and other public places to avoid the spreading. In a nutshell, while the world is battling with this deadly virus, a couple of Bollywood filmmakers have already started to register titles connected to the disease. Yes, you read that right!
As per a report in Times Of India, the popular production house of Eros International has booked the title ‘Corona Pyaar Hai,’ giving a corona twist to Hrithik Roshan’s debut film, Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai. Krishika Lulla of Eros International, in a conversation with the daily, confirmed the news by saying, “Currently the scripting is going on. The subject (of the epidemic) is going to be set in a love story. Currently, we are fine-tuning the script and are waiting for things to subside, as things have come to a standstill now. Once everything is normal, we will start the project in full swing.”
A source from the Indian Film and Television Producer Council, too, has confirmed the news to the publication by revealing that Eros International indeed registered Corona Pyaar Hai sometime in the last week. The report added how another film body, Indian Motion Picture Producers’ Association, has also confirmed that a couple of filmmakers have registered titles related to coronavirus. A source said, “We have already registered one called Deadly Corona.” Are we surprised here?
Meanwhile, the coronavirus outbreak has led to a huge loss for the film industry. Many biggies like Sooryavanshi and Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar among others have been postponed, while Irrfan Khan’s Angrezi Medium, which released last Friday, is slated for a re-release once the situation settles down.
