Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff has often been spotted carrying a Spider plant to almost every event he attends. Pictures of the actor carrying the plant at various events have surfaced online and it only proves that he is doing his bit to conserve the environment and even urges people to reduce pollution by planting more trees. In an old interview, Jackie mentioned that the spider plant is unique as it removes elements like benzene from the air and gives oxygen in return.
Speaking with Times Of India, the Ram Lakhan actor said, “I didn't do any favor to the world by planting trees. Everyone's job is to plant, apply, if you want to plant a new one, then die by burning. That's what's going to happen. You don't have to think of your child's child. I'm half in the grave. Others will also come, our pillars will come.” He went on to add that the necklace he wore has a real plant and that it’s a custom-made pot gifted by his friend. “I water it every day. I wear it around my neck, but people can keep a bigger sized plant in their cars and also as decorative pieces in their homes. It’s a lot better than keeping an expensive statue or a piece of art," Shroff further asserted. Reacting to his viral pictures showing him posing, holding spider plant in his hand, one fan commented, “Jackie Shroff’s commitment to the bit is fantastic, ye aadmi akela global warming reverse karega.”
Recently, the 66-year-old actor was seen posing for the shutterbugs with a plant in his hand as he walked the red carpet at the launch of Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre. Meanwhile, Jackie Shroff was last seen in Katrina Kaif, Ishaan Khatter, and Siddhant Chaturvedi starrer horror comedy 'Phone Bhoot'. In February this year, he was spotted on the sets of Rajinikanth’s film ‘Jailer’ in Jaisalmer.
