When reports of the duo teaming up for this project came to the forefront, Taurani had stated that they were hunting for an actress who could play the second leading lady. Speaking to Mumbai Mirror, the producer had said, "Yes, Diljit and Yami have given their nod to the film. It’s a fresh pairing and we are excited because both are competent actors with impeccable comic timing. It is a sensible comedy and revolves around a couple."
The producer was hunting for another leading lady and his search ended with Shilpa Shetty Kundra coming onboard.
