It has been quite a trend to remake old classics. The latest to enter the list is 1995 film Coolie No.1 which was directed by David Dhawan and starred Govindaand Karisma Kapoor in lead roles. The remake of the film will star Varun Dhawan, son of David Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan in lead roles.
Coolie No.1 is a comedy film based on hilarious consequences which arise when matchmaker Shaadiram, spurned by a rich man, plans to teach him a lesson and gets Raju (Govinda) a coolie, to pose as a millionaire and marry the man’s daughter (Karisma Kapoor). The film also has some super iconic songs amongst which is ‘Main Toh Raste Se Ja Raha Tha’. As the film is being remade, the buzz around is that, Varun and Sara will grove to the tunes of the song in the film.
Several reasons come up to wait for the recreation of this phenomenal movie and now the reports of the iconic song’s reprised version for the adaptation is giving fans another reason to rejoice. According to a Times Of India report, given the popularity of the track, makers are planning to present a reprised version of the song to add a bit of nostalgia amongst its viewers. But the discussion on the same is at a very compromising stage.
Varun is currently shooting for the Remo D’souza film Street Dancer 3D which is set to release on January 24, 2020 whereas, Sara will be next seen in Imtiaz Ali’s film which is set to release on February 14, 2020.
