Yesterday, Dangal actress Zaira Wasim created a stir on social media when she announced that he has decided to quit Bollywood citing religious reasons. She took to social media and informed her fans about her decision. Within no time, her decision sparked a debate on Twitter, while many respected her decision, others said that quitting a profession due to religion is not justified.

Reacting on Zaria’s decision, Raveena Tandon slammed the Secret Superstar actress by calling her “ungrateful”. In her tweet, she wrote, “Doesn’t matter if two film olds are ungrateful to the industry that has given them all. Just wish they’d exit gracefully and keep their regressive views to themselves.”

When a tweet read, “It is sad to see a young adult throw away a promising career and her decision to do so being rooted in religion. We need more Zairas to break away from the clutches of religion and become successful individuals, and not the other way round.” Raveena re-tweeted and said, “I standby and love my industry,all the opportunities it gives to everyone. Exit is your choice,reason,by all means.Just do not demean it for everyone else.The industry where all work shoulder to shoulder,no differences,caste,religion or where you come from. #Respect #indianfilms”

Filmmaker Tanuj Garg said, “Invoking religion to justify quitting a profession. Makes the other Muslims look like sinners. Not done, boss!”

 A Twitter user said, “Respect choice of Zaira Wasim quitting acting in movies but she can’t invoke religion and faith to justify this. Are others in the field some kind of sinners?This dawning of new reality should be her own truth & her own interpretation of religion. Period.”

Another user wrote, “Today #ZairaWasim quits her career as actress because it's against Islam. Today we Hindu must proud our religion that it's doesn't demand such foolish thing #ZairaWasim”

 
Filmmaker Onir also said, “It's someone's right to choose what profession one finds happiness in. Wish the decision did not have to be accompanied with a sermon on "good way of life" #ZairaWasim .The opposite is a huge struggle for many who are prevented to make the choice citing the idea as anti religion.
