Zaira Wasim Won't Promote The Sky Is Pink Also Starring Priyanka Chopra; Here’s Why
Zaira Wasim will not be a part of her upcoming film, The Sky Is Pink’s promotions. According to a report in Mid-Day, the actress has expressed her intentions to the makers of the film. So, does it signify that we will only see PeeCee and Farhan promoting the film now?

For those not in the know, Zaira announced her decision of quitting from films in a recent post on social media, due to her distraction from faith and religion. Many Bollywood celebs and famous names have reacted to the actor’s post. Actors like Raveena Tandon, Anupam Kher and several others have shared their opinions regarding this matter through their respective social media handles. According to an HT report, “With the film eyeing an October 11 release, the makers were planning to kick off the promotions by August-end. It was evident from Zaira’s Facebook post on Sunday that she has decided to sever her ties from films. In keeping with her decision, she has requested the makers to excuse her from the promotional activities.”

Recently, in a statement, the makers of The Sky Is Pink, Roy Kapur Films called Zaira a ‘complete professional’ for her journey through the shooting of the film. The statement read, “Zaira is an exceptional artiste and we are lucky to have had her play Aisha Chaudhury in our film, The Sky Is Pink. She has been a complete professional all through the shoot of the film, which concluded earlier this month. This is a purely personal decision, which she has taken after much thought and we will be supportive of her in every way - now and always.”

With The Sky Is Pink, Priyanka Chopra will mark her comeback to Bollywood after three years. The duo (Peecee-Farhan) will be seen playing Zaira’s parents in the film. The Sky Is Pink is based on the real-life story of Aisha Chaudhary, a young girl who was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis who wrote a book on her life and died at 19 years of age.

The 18-year-old actor is best known for her role as a wrestler in the 2016 film Dangal. She has mentioned in her posts, that the field brought a lot of love and support her way, but it also interfered with her Imaan and her relationship with her religion was threatened.

Through Twitter, the actor also shut down rumours that her social media accounts were hacked when she announced her decision, the tweet read, “This to clarify that none of my social media accounts were or are hacked and are being handled by me personally. Kindly refrain from believing or sharing claims that state otherwise! Thanks.”
