Zero Makers Give In To Objections From Sikh Community
In response to objections raised by Sikh community, makers of Zero modified the Kirpan scenes
On Wednesday, the makers of Zero filed an affidavit in a Bombay High Court in response to a petition seeking for removal of scenes that showed a Kirpan. The makers confirm that the concerned portions have been altered.
Red Chillies Entertainment stated, “Despite the fact that the film and its poster depicted only an ornamental dagger and not a 'Kirpan', steps have been taken by the respondent to alter the relevant scenes. The portions in question have been altered through visual effects to depict an ornamental sword.”

In the month of November, a petition was filed in the Bombay High Court against the makers of Zero and Shah Rukh Khan for hurting sentiments of the Sikh community. Amritpal Singh Khalsa had filed the petition asking for removal of scenes that involved SRK wearing a Kirpan (article of Sikh faith). According to the petition, "Display of the Kirpan in such a way is blasphemous and the scenes should be removed immediately."
In the past, Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee general secretary Manjinder Singh Sirsa had lodged a complaint against Shah Rukh Khan for hurting religious sentiments of the Sikh community.
The movie which also stars Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif in main roles is slated to release on December 21, 2018.
