Friends: The Reunion special episode released recently. After much anticipation, the fans enjoyed watching the cast of six reunite for a special segment. Before the episode released, the makers dropped the interesting trailer, piquing the interest of many worldwide. Watching the clip, many fans took to Twitter to point out Matthew Perry aka Chandler Bing’s slurry speech. Fans also expressed concerns, while many felt sorry for the actor. Now, Friends: The Reunion director, Ben Winston talks about fan concerns about Matthew Perry’s health.
Speaking with THR, director Ben Winston said that working with Matthew Perry was great and called him a ‘brilliantly funny man’. Winston said, “Perry was great. People can sometimes just be unkind. I wish they weren’t. I loved working with him. He’s a brilliantly funny man and I thought he had some great one-liners in the show. I felt just happy and lucky to be in his presence and directing him on something like this.”
Friends' executive producer Kevin Bright said that the actor is doing better now. He said, “I talked to him. It was great seeing him again. And what people say is what people say. I don’t have any to say about that, except it was great to see him. And I think he’s very funny on the show. But yes, I think he’s OK.” Bright added, “He seems stronger and better since the last time I saw him, and excited about going forward.”
Meanwhile, Friends: The Reunion was telecast on May 27. Earlier, UK’s Sun reported that a source revealed that Matthew Perry’s slurry speech was because the actor underwent a ‘dental’ procedure that day.
