Right now, every FRIENDS fan is crazy excited about the release of the reunion special. With the airing day almost near, fans are eagerly waiting to watch the cast of six-Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, and Lisa Kudrow come together. Some days back, the makers released the trailer of the Friends Reunion Special. After that, during the video of an interview, fans noticed Matthew Perry aka Chandler Bing’s slurry speech. Watching the actor answer interview questions in slurry speech got fans worried. Now, a report revealed the reason behind it.

According to a report in UK’s Sun, Matthew Perry’s much-discussed speech in the Friends reunion trailer was due to “emergency dental work”. A source revealed that the Friends star had an emergency tooth procedure on the day of the shoot. The source in the report said, “Matthew turned up to the reunion [in April] and members of his team said that he had an emergency tooth procedure that day.” The insider added, “That was said to impact his wellbeing and also how he was feeling.”

The source in the report continued, “He had been in pain from what we understand, which caused the slurred speech.” The insider in the report revealed that the pain from the dental procedure was that caused Matthew Perry’s slurred speech. The source in the report added, “Obviously no one wants to film after a procedure, but it happened. The feeling was one of huge sympathy for Matthew, especially in recent days given how people have reacted online.” The source said, “Matthew has told those around him that he is sober, and there is no need to worry.”

Meanwhile, the Friends sitcom is one of the most loved shows across the world. The reunion special premieres on May 27, Thursday on HBO Max, and Zee5 in India. Also Read: Matthew Perry Aka Chandler Bing's Slurry Speech Clip Gets FRIENDS Fans Worried; ‘It Hurts To Look At Him’
