Rumour mills were buzzing with actor Amber Heard leaving the sequel of Aquaman where she played Xebellian princess Mera in the DCEU. However, this rumour came in the wake of her brutal and public battle with ex-husband and actor Johnny Depp. As reports of Heard being fired from Aquaman 2 emerged online, the actor started to trend on social media, in fact, some were happy with this new development. But putting all the rumours to rest, the latest report states that Amber is very much a part of the film and will reprise her role as Mera in Aquaman 2, which also stars Jason Momoa.
THR staff writer Ryan Parker took to social media to state he's been told by a "reliable source" that the reports of Heard's alleged firing are “inaccurate." The tweet read, “Told by a reliable source that reports of Amber Heard being fired off 'Aquaman 2' are inaccurate.” Despite this, an official announcement is yet to be made by the actor and the makers. After Johnny lost the libel case against The Sun tabloid newspaper for a 2018 article that labelled him a ‘wife-beater,’ Warner Bros has asked the actor to resign from Fantastic Beasts 3.
He even issued an official statement saying, “I wish to let you know that I have been asked to resign by Warner Bros. from my role as Grindelwald in Fantastic Beasts and I have respected and agreed to that request.”
Depp’s departure from the franchise led to fan outcry online. Due to this, some even wondered why Heard wasn't receiving the same fate. Nevertheless, it seems the lady is sticking to the sequel of Aquaman and will also make an appearance in the next part for Zack Snyder's Justice League.
