Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi have been enjoying their quarantine break in their multi-million dollar Montecito, California estate. The couple constantly shares videos giving fans a sneak-peek of what’s going on and how they are managing to spend their time at home, during the lockdown. Amidst all that, according to the latest reports, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi’s Montecito, multi-million dollar, sea-facing estate, where the talk show host was filming her home lockdown episodes of The Ellen Show was robbed lately, during the Coronavirus lockdown.
Fox News reported that the multi-million dollar home of The Ellen Show host Ellen DeGeneres and her wife, actress Portia de Rossi, was burglarized earlier this month. As Ellen’s Montecito estate falls under the Santa Barbara County Sherriff's Office, on Thursday, the police department confirmed the news in a press release. The press release shared by the Santa Barbara County Sherriff's Office mentioned that the robbery at DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi’s home in Montecito took place on July 4.
The press release also mentioned that the Montecito residence of Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi was targeted due to their celebrity status. An excerpt from the press release in the report read, “The residence appears to have been targeted due to the victim's celebrity status. The exact description of the items that were taken is not available for release, but they are described as high-value jewellery and watches." The press release also mentioned that due to safety and security reasons, the exact description of the items robbed cannot be revealed, but, high-value jewellery and watches were stolen from the home of the talk show host.
Meanwhile, an extensive investigation is ongoing and being conducted by the Santa Barbara Sheriff’s detectives and forensics technicians. The police department is also looking closely into the incident to understand whether the robbery at Ellen DeGeneres home is related to any recent celebrity home burglaries.
