As Netflix's The White Tiger received an Oscar nomination, stars Priyanka Chopra, Rajkummar Rao and Adarsh Gourav took to their social media accounts to express excitement
Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas announced the Oscars 2021 nominations today. The couple unveiled the full list and shared who is in the running to bag the trophy this year. Among the hoard of films and stars, Netflix's film The White Tiger too is in the nominations. Starring Priyanka Chopra, Rajkummar Rao and Adarsh Gourav, The White Tiger has received nomination in the category of 'Adapted Screenplay'. All the three stars have expressed their excitement for the same.
Sharing a few BTS pictures, Rajkummar Rao wrote, "We are nominated for the #OSCARS Congratulations #RaminBahrani and team #TheWhiteTiger." Priyanka Chopra, who announced the nominations, stated that she felt special and proud at the same time. "We just got nominated for an Oscar! Congratulations Ramin and team #TheWhiteTiger. Somehow announcing the nomination myself made it so much more special. So so proud," she wrote.
Adarsh Gourav definitely seemed to be on moon with The White Tiger getting nominated for Oscars. He wrote, "Officially part of an Oscar nominated film! Ramin Bahrani! You are a legend! So proud of the entire team!! Congratulations everyone!" Check out their posts here:
The White Tiger also got nominated for BAFTA 2021. Subhash Jha for SpotboyE had then spoken to Adarsh Gourav who had quoted, "I am dazed! I was in the gym. In the morning I heard that I may be nominated. I didn’t think about it the whole day. I was busy doing other things. Now when I finish working out, I find messages from Pooja Asher(dialect coach for The White Tiger) and my father. He was watching it live on television. His joy on the phone was infectious. The impact(of being nominated) has begun to hit me now. It will take time.”
