The International Emmy Awards has always created an excitement in the minds of its audiences. With the awards ceremony taking place in New York City, the thrill about it has been at its peak. The awards honor the best US primetime television programmes and will be chosen by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. As the nominations for the awards have already been listed, Netflix’s Sacred Games Season 2 featuring Saif Ali Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui has been nominated for the awards.

The winners of the Creative Arts Emmy’s were recently announced which included Leaving Neverland, The Simpsons, Queer Eye, and James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke were among a few. According to Emmy’s official website, a total of 44 nominees across 11 categories and 21 countries have been selected this year. As the excitement is at its peak, Netflix’s fan-favorite show Sacred Games Season 2 has been nominated for the Best Drama Series Award. Directed by Neeraj Ghaywan and Anurag Kashyap, the series has received an International Emmy Award nomination for Best Drama Series which stars Saif Ali Khan as Sartaj Singh and, Nawazuddin Siddiqui as Ganesh Gaitonde in pivotal roles. As Vikramaditya Motwane is the showrunner of the series, the lead writer of the series is Varun Grover. Similarly, the other nominees in the category are 1 Contra Todos Season 3 (Brazil), Bad Banks (Germany) and McMafia (UK). The director of Sacred Games, Anurag Kashyap also took to his Instagram to share his excitement on the nomination.

Simultaneously, Anurag Kashyap’s Netflix film Lust Stories has also been nominated for the Best Mini-Series, while Lust Stories actress Radhika Apte has received the nomination for Best Actress-Lust Stories. While Anurag Kashyap bags 3 Emmy nominations, the filmmaker is overjoyed with the news. The International Emmy Awards ceremony will take place on November 25 in New York City.
