Producer Ekta Kapoor’s web series Verdict- State Vs Nanavati received a phenomenal response from the viewers after it was released. The web series based on the 1959 Indian judiciary case K . M. Nanavati v. State of Maharashtra where Kawas Nanavati, an Indian Naval Command Officer is accused of the murder of Prem Ahuja. On Tuesday, producer Ekta Kapoor announced the sequel of the web series Verdict- State Vs Nanavati. She made a post and shared pictures of the books the sequel is based on.
Ekta Kapoor posted pictures of the book on Instagram and mentioned the title is Verdict 2- People Vs Indira Gandhi. She wrote in the caption, “Time for Verdict2. The People v/s Indira Gandhi. A woman of worth admiration and critique. Our most ambitious story to tell... based on these in-depth stellar books. @altbalaji @thisishowweding @tansworld @zee5 @nimishalok @dheemana @navneetbehal” Ekta Kapoor said it’s “Time for Verdict 2” announcing the sequel of the web series Verdict. The second season of Verdict is based on the Emergency that was declared in India when Indira Gandhi was the Prime Minister. She mentioned that the story is the “most ambitious story to tell” which is based on the in-depth books titled The Case That Shook India The Verdict That Led To Emergency and Emergency Retold by Kuldeep Nayar.

Meanwhile, Ekta Kapoor’s Verdict-State Vs Nanavati released in 2019. The 10 episodes series premiered on the OTT platform on September 30. The series stars Manav Kaul, Elli AvrRam, Sumeet Vyas and Viraf Patel as protagonists. The series won a tremendous response from the audience after it premiered on the streaming platform.
