Hum Bhi Akele Tum Bhi Akele: Zareen Khan And Anshuman Jha's Film To Release On 9th May On OTT
After receiving several accolades at international film festivals -Hum Bhi Akele, Tum Bhi Akele directed by Harish Vyas is set to arrive on Disney+ Hotstar VIP on 9th May.
Hum Bhi Akele Tum Bhi Akele starring Zareen Khan and Anshuman Jha is a story of embracing love, life, and friendship. The film addresses homosexuality, friendship, and love through its lead characters and their humane journey. Due to its unique subject, the film globally won over several international film critics and enthusiasts. Speaking about the film, director Harish Vyas said, " Hum Bhi Akele, Tum Bhi Akele is a human story of a special friendship that blooms, by chance, between a man and woman - both homosexuals - who are not only polar opposites - think yin & yang, but have had completely different personal journeys so far". The director aims to bring forth the warm, positive, loving embrace that is the soul of friendship & to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community to which he close to.
The film has won the Best Film-Audience Choice award at the HBO South Asian International Film Festival, New York. Also, at the 2020 Rajasthan International Film Festival, actor Anshuman Jha won the Jury Award for Best Actor, Zareen Khan Best Actress-Hindi Films, and Best Director Harish Vyas. Hum Bhi Akele, Tum Bhi Akele was also the attraction at the IFFM Melbourne 2020 and was the Closing Night Gala Film of Kashish 2020, Asia's biggest LGBTQ film festival. Actress Zareen Khan who won the Best Actress-Hindi Films at Rajasthan International Film Festival calls the film a life-changing experience for her. She adds, "I was immediately drawn to the depth and emotionality of Mansi's character since the first time that I heard the narration its unique storyline just hooked me. Just like Veer and Mansi's lives change after their road trip, Hum Bhi Akele, Tum Bhi Akele has been a life-changing experience for me and I do hope the film is able to relay the message that love is love - to even more people as it releases on Disney+ Hotstar VIP.”
Written and directed by Harish Vyas and produced by First Ray Films, Hum Bhi Akele Tum Bhi Akele will be available from 9th May 2021 exclusively for subscribers of Disney+ Hotstar VIP and Disney+ Hotstar Premium
