Sushmita Sen Breaks Silence About Being TROLLED Over Taali’s First Poster; Actress Says, ‘I Took It Very Personally, Blocked All Of Them’
Bollywood actress Sushmita Sen has garnered a huge fanbase, over the years, with her versatile performances. While her journey wasn’t always easy, she has always inspired women to take charge of their lives and live it the way they want to. She is gearing up for the release of her upcoming web-series Taali, a biopic based on the life of renowned transgender activist Shreegauri Sawant. She recently opened up about facing a lot of trolling from the netizens when she released the first poster of the web-series.

During her interview with News18, Sushmita spoke about how faceless trolls posted nasty and sexist comments in the comment section of her post. From calling her a  ‘chhakka (eunuch)’ to criticising her playing the role of a trans person, she revealed that it all affected her deeply. For the unversed, the first poster of Taali showed the actress’ half face, while the other half was hidden by the clap. She recalled, “I remember that in the comment section, there were lots of nameless people as social media is full of, writing ‘chhakka (eunuch)’ repeatedly.” ALSO READ: WHAT!? She added, “I thought, how can they do that to me? I took it very personally because it was happening on my timeline. The Aarya actress went on to express her gratitude on getting a chance to change people’s perspective on the sensitive topic. She went on to reveal that all her life she has received love from everyone in her life and if she can help deliver that love and admiration to “a community that has longed and ached for it,” a community that deserves it, she will gladly be that medium.

Directed by Ravi Jadhav, Taali will stream on Jio Cinemas from August 15, 2023. The web-series is based on the life of transgender activist Shreegauri Sawant. She is the director of Sakhi Char Chowghi, an organisation that helps trans people and people with HIV and AIDS. She was also made the goodwill ambassador of Election Commission in Maharashtra.
