Amazon Prime Video's The Family Man 2 is expected to start streaming in June and the fans are eagerly awaiting the return of their favorite characters Srikant Tiwari (Manoj Bajpai),  Priyamani, Sharad Kelkar, Neeraj Madhav, among others. A new addition to the family is south superstar Samantha Akkineni who is making her foray into the digital medium. The filming for the second season began in November 2019 and was wrapped up in September 2020. It was supposed to release in February this year but has been postponed due to the pandemic.

The series tells the story of a middle-class man Srikant Tiwari who secretly works as an intelligence officer for the Threat Analysis and Surveillance Cell (TASC). For the very first time in her career, Samantha will be seen in a negative character, giving more details about her role director Raj & DK said, “Samantha has a bold role in The Family Man: Season 2. We were not sure about Samantha’s response when we first approached. But she was quite positive which left us surprised. Her character will surprise everyone. She has a role with boldness and edginess and has delivered her best."

The directors also revealed that they always wanted a South Indian actor for the role and after watching Samantha’s performance in Super Deluxe they were bowled out and hence they approached the actor with this role. The first season of the series was a smashing hit due to which the anticipation for the second season is high. The web series is all set to premiere on Amazon Prime shortly, however, the final release date is yet to be confirmed.
