Why Comicstaan Season 2 Is Better Than Season 1
Are you the kind of person who likes to unwind after a long, hard day with some stand-up comedy? Let’s face it, nothing matches up to some heartfelt laughter - whether it comes in the form of a meme or Amazon Prime Video’s popular comedy reality show - Comicstaan.

When we say that Comicstaan 2 is worth your precious time, we aren’t joking. Don’t get us wrong, we loved the first season of Comicstaan. It gave us hilarious comics like the hilarious Rahul Dua, the underrated Shankar Chugani, the quirky Prashasti Singh and of course the well-deserved winner, Nishant Suri. Season 2 takes all the great things the show already had and made it better!

To begin with, the judges table just got a lot more fun. While some of the old judges like Kanan Gill, Biswa Kalyan Rath, Kaneez Surka and Kenny Sebastian remained on the panel, they were joined by our very own sakht launda, Zakir Khan, Neeti Palta and host turned judge, Sumukhi Suresh. Joining Abish Mathew as a host for the season is Urooj Ashfaq, who you might have seen in several AIB videos in the past.

The format and concept of the show remains the same. There are 10 contestants vying for the same spot, as the best stand-up comic in the country. Each episode is mentored by one of the judges and focuses on one sub-genre of comedy. Prime Video released 3 of the episodes at one go on the release date, and we watched them all in one sitting!

What makes the season truly shine? It’s the brilliant entourage of young comics, the contestants of course! While Season 1 had some clear funny voices and some not-so-funny ones, each comic in the new season is distinct, unique and no holds barred! It’s clear that the stakes have been raised and the quality of comedy has gone up several notches. We’re rooting for Aakash Gupta, Shreeja Chaturvedi and Samay Raina in particular!

Our favourite episode? It has to be episode 4: Topical Comedy, mentored by Neeti Palta. The episode also contains the first 10/10 score in Season 2!

A few years back, having a career in stand-up comedy was unimaginable. But shows like Comicstaan provide the right platform, high-quality mentorship and give young comics the wings to fly. It is not only an important show, it’s also one you are sure to thoroughly enjoy!

So go ahead, Comicstaan 2 awaits! With an episode out every Friday, it truly is the best show to unwind with every week!
