Upcoming Marathi Film ‘Senior Citizen’: Ashish Pawar To Play Negative Role
Actor-director Ashish Pawar, has been a popular face of Marathi television and theater, known for playing comic roles. His performance in comedy was also acknowledged by the Zee Talkies Comedy Award. He has recently been honored with the Mata Sanman Award 2019 for his outstanding performance in Sanjay Khapre’s play ‘Galti Se Mistake’. He has received 5 awards, including Mata Sanman, for his remarkable work in this play.

While speaking to a leading newspaper, Ashish shared his joy about receiving Mata Sanman and also said that he will now be seen playing a different kind of role in his upcoming film. Ashish, who is famous as a comedy actor, will now be seen playing a negative character for an upcoming Marathi film, ‘Senior Citizen’. This film, directed by Ajay Phansekar, has given Ashish an opportunity to prove the versatility in his performance.

Actor-director Ajay Phansekar, who has come up with films like ‘Ratra Aarambh’, ‘Encounter’, ‘Yehi Hai Zindagi’ and ‘Ek Hotee Vadi’, is now directing the film ‘Senior Citizen’, which will be produced under the banner of Om Creations. Ajay Phansekar became a popular face after playing a policeman in TV series ‘100’ on Doordarshan, where he shared screen with Shivaji Satam and Deepak Shirke.

Sharing the excitement about his role as a villain in 'Senior Citizen', Ashish mentioned that he will also be directing a play, which is based on Marathi translation of an English play ‘Tsunami’.
