Kannada Actress Shanaya Katwe Arrested In Connection With Her Brother’s Murder; Chopped Body Parts Found In Hubballi

Kannada actress Shanaya Katwe has been arrested by the Hubbali Rural police in connection with her brother Rakesh Katwe’s murder. According to a report in New Indian Express, Rakesh’s decapitated head was found in Devaragudihal forest, while his remaining body parts were dumped across Gadag Road and different areas of Hubballi. The Dharwad district police formed a few teams to investigate the case, after which 4 suspects who have been identified as Niyazahemed Katigar, Tousif Channapur, Altaf Mulla, and Aman Giraniwale were arrested.
New Indian Express reports that upon investigating, the police found out that the murder was linked to Rakesh’s sister Shanaya Katwe’s love affair. As per reports, she was allegedly in love with the accused Niyazahemed Katigar, but her brother opposed their love affair, after which Katigar allegedly plotted to kill Rakesh. The report states that Shanaya visited Hubbali on April 9 to promote her film, and it was on that very day, that the murder took place in their house.
Rakesh was reportedly strangled to death and murdered. The next day, Katigar and his friends chopped the body and disposed of the body parts across different places in the city.
Shanaya Katwe was arrested by the Hubbali Rural police on Thursday and was sent to judicial custody. She made her debut in the Kannada film industry with the 2018 film Idam Premam Jeevanam, helmed by Raghavanka Prabhu. Her upcoming film includes Ondu Ghanteya Kathe.
