Venkatesh: The Telugu Sequel To The High-Octane Drama Drishyam 2 To Skip The Theatrical Release?
Actor Venkatesh, Meena, Kruthika and Esther Anil, and Nadiya will be seen reprising their previous roles in the Telugu version of Drushyam  2. The Telugu remake began shooting earlier this year and completed the shoot of the film in 40 days. However, given the current Covid situation, the makers have decided not to wait for a theatrical release.  As per the source like Mohanlal's Malayalam version, it will directly stream on the OTT platform and the announcement for the same will be made soon.

Drishyam 2, starring Mohanlal a Malayalam entertainer, became a blockbuster success after its premiere on Amazon Prime Video on February 19, 2021. Due to the positive response to the film, superstar Venkatesh wasted no time setting up a schedule for part 2 and completed the shoot. Which is now ready for a release.  Drushyam 2 is produced by Antony Perumbavoor of Aashirvad Cinemas and Suresh Babu Daggubati of Suresh Productions.

An official statement has yet to be issued, but it is expected to be released shortly, according to sources. There have been rumors that Kamal Haasan will reprise his role as the main character in the Tamil version of the film, but nothing is declared yet.

Meanwhile, Venkatesh is currently awaiting the release of Naarappa, again a Telugu remake of director Vetrimaaran's blockbuster film Asuran starring Dhanush. Venkatesh will be seen as a farmer while Priyamani reprises the role of Manju Warrier from the original.
