Lucifer: Vidya Balan Comes On-Board Chiranjeevi's film? Here's What The Actress Has to Say - EXCLUSIVE
There have been reports that the makers of Chiranjeevi's upcoming film Lucifer are considering Vidya Balan to be the lead heroine. The actor says otherwise.
Ever since ‘ Thani Oruvan’ director Mohan Raj announced the remake of 'Lucifer’ with Chiranjeevi, many stories regarding the massive project have been doing the rounds on the internet. Initially, speculations went rife that Nayanatara, Radhika, Genelia were in talks to play the leading lady in the film. However, the latest grapevine suggested that ‘Shakuntala Devi’ actress Vidya Balan has been approached to play a pivotal role in the film.
As per reports, the director Mohan Raja is keen on getting Vidya Balan on board to be a part of this political thriller. However, when SpotboyE got in touch with the actress, she denied it. Speaking exclusively with us Vidya says, " Oh! No, I haven't even been offered the role. This is the first time I heard it." However when told that fans would really like to see Vidya and Chiranjeevi in a film together to which the actress said, "If something works out of course." In January this year, the makers held a small ceremony to announce the Telugu remake of Lucifer starring Chiranjeevi, the pictures from the ceremony had soon gone viral. The project marks the maiden collaboration of Chiranjeevi and director Mohan Raja. The original film Lucifer, starring Mohanlal, was the directorial debut of Prithviraj Sukumaran and had emerged as one of the biggest blockbusters in the Malayalam industry. Well, if the makers do approach her and if she does say yes, it would be a treat for all her fans. Meanwhile, Vidya Balan recently released the trailer of her upcoming film Sherni which will soon be out on the OTT platform. This would be her second digital release after Shakuntala Devi which released last year. Sherni will premiere on Amazon Prime on 18th June. The film also stars Vijay Raaz and Neeraj Kabi in pivotal roles. On the other hand, Chiranjeevi awaiting the release of his upcoming film Acharya which is directed by Koratala Siva.
