Rakul Preet Singh Summoned By ED For A Drugs Related Money Laundering Case In Tollywood- REPORTS
Rakul Preet Singh will appear before ED on December 19 for a money laundering, drugs related case in Tollywood
Actress Rakul Preet Singh, who has impressed the audience with her beauty and acting chops, was summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday. She has been asked to join an investigation into an alleged drug-related money laundering case in Tollywood (the Telugu film industry). She will be appearing before the ED on December 19.
According to PTI, actor Charmee Kaur and Telugu filmmaker Puri Jagannadh have already been questioned by the ED. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Telangana’s Prohibition and Excise department had looked in to the suspected drug connections in Tollywood. They have interrogated 11 people associated with the Telugu entertainment industry, which includes directors, actors, as well as their drivers. ALSO READ: THROWBACK! Well this is not the first time she has been summoned by the ED for a drug-related investigation case. According to the media reports, she had appeared before the ED in Hydrabad in September 2021 in relation to the high-end narcotics ring that was busted in the city in 2017. The actress had been summoned in relation to a notorious scheme of providing expensive drugs like LSD (Lysergic acid diethylamide) and MDMA.
She was also called by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in 2020, after the passing of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. She was called in for questioning because of her conversations with actress Rhea Chakraborty. Pinkvilla had reported that not only had the Thank God actress denied consuming drugs but she had also confirmed that the substances were meant for Rhea. One the work front, Rakul Preet Singh will be seen in Chattriwali. The story of the movie revolves around an unemployed graduate, who takes up the job of a condom-tester after desperately searching for one in a small town. She also has Meri Patni Ka Remake in her pipeline. The movie also stars Arjun Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar in lead roles.
