SS Rajamouli has been making India proud with RRR! The film has been basking in glory after receiving several accolades in the international belt and now in a rather interesting turn of events, the film has now advanced towards the Oscars. RRR’s much-celebrated track ‘Naatu Naatu’ featuring Ram Charan and Jr. NTR, was nominated for Best Original Song at the Academy Awards.

In the best original song category, the song is competing with other four songs which include, RRR’s Naatu Naatu, Applause from Tell it Like a Woman, Hold My Hand from Top Gun: Maverick, Lift Me Up from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and This is a Life Everything Everywhere All At Once.
Interestingly, actor Allison Williams and actor-rapper-producer Riz Ahmed announced the nominations on Tuesday evening.
SS Rajamouli’s periodic drama is currently on cloud nine after being nominated for Best Original Song at the Oscars. Naatu Naatu is sung by Kala Bhairava, MM Keeravani and Rahul Sipligunj.
Earlier, the song won Best Original song at Golden Globes Awards and best song at Critics Choice Awards. RRR has etched its name in history raising the bar of Indian cinema after Slumdog Millionaire. For those unaware, AR Rahman’s Jai Ho from Slumdog Millionaire won at the Oscars in 2009. SS Rajamouli’s RRR revolves around the story of two revolutionaries, set in the backdrop of 1920. The film features Ram Charan and Jr NTR in the lead role and also cast Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt in an extended cameo. The film became a box-office blockbuster which was released in March 2022.
