'Senior Actors Used To Take A Dig On Me During My Struggling Days': Shivangi Joshi On Being Mistreated By Co-Stars Her Debut Show
Television actress Shivangi Joshi became a household name after she essayed the role of Naira Goenka in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. She enjoys a huge fan following on social media, who are always eager to know more about her life and personal struggles. While she is enjoying the perks of being one of the most adored celebrities in the industry, her journey hasn’t been easy. She recently opened up about the same during an interview.

In her conversation with Telly Chakkar, Shivangi opened up about her struggling days and how she was mistreated by senior actors during her debut show. For the unversed, she made her debut with Gautami Kapoor and Manav Gohil’s show Khelti Hai Zindagi Aankh Micholi in 2013. In her interview she claimed that she has dealt with senior actors who don’t appreciate young kids on shows as they don’t know the shooting language and are most of the time clueless. They would often complain about her not knowing anything and would tell her to “learn before coming on set.”

The 25-year-old went on to reveal, “In my debut show, I remember I was kept in a vanity van with junior artists and was made to sit with them. Later on, I realised that the treatment I was getting wasn't good at all.” While she realises that many newcomers face similar issues, she expressed how she would never treat her juniors the same way as she knows how it feels.

Shivangi further in her interview also shared how because of her introverted nature, “people assume that I'm arrogant, rude and have an attitude. I still remember, I performed a tough scene and couldn’t give the byte. The press went on to say that I have an attitude.” She went on to recall a time when the press wouldn’t take her interview as she wasn’t the lead and how it broke her heart. However, she also expressed her gratitude towards a section of the media that has been supportive towards her during her journey.

On the work front, after Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai she went on to star in Balika Vadhu 2 and also made a cameo appearance in Shalin Bhanot’s television show Bekaboo. She will be seen in Ekta Kapoor’s new show Barsaatein - Mausam Pyaar Ka opposite actor Kushal Tandon. The show will premiere on Sony TV from July 10th.
