Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai’s Aasif Sheikh On Shilpa Shinde Quitting The Show 5 Years Ago: ‘Knew There Would Be A Dip In TRP, But Nobody Is Indispensable'
Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai is a popular comedy television show, that has been successfully running for six years now. Back in 2016, the show had grabbed the headlines post Shilpa Shinde’s controversial exit from Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai. Shilpa was seen as Angoori Bhabhi on the show, and post her exit, Shubhangi Atre was roped in to replace her. Fans loved watching Shilpa Shinde as Angoori Bhabhi, so there was apprehension about Shubhangi Atre playing the role. However, she aced it too, and has been playing the role for 5 years now. In a recent interview, Aasif Sheikh aka Vibhuti Narayan Tripathi opened up about Shilpa’s exit, and said that the show suffered a huge jot.

While speaking to ETimes, Aasif Sheikh said that when Shilpa quit the show, the team of Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai was aware and ready to witness a dip in the TRP ratings. However, he added that in the television industry, no one is indispensable, and that the show can’t be run by one person alone. “When Shilpa decided to quit the show, our show suffered a huge jolt. But you have to remember that the show can’t be run by a single person and especially in the Television industry nobody is indispensable I feel. When she quit the show we pulled up our socks and we were ready that there will be a drop in our TRP because she had a major fan following,” he said.

Aasif Sheikh further added that the team did not give up post Shilpa Shinde’s exit and worked harder and got the show back on track. He said that they were aware and prepared to hear comments from people that they wouldn’t watch the show after Shilpa’s exit.

“Eventually, it doesn’t happen like that. Whenever someone is watching the show, they do it for humour or entertainment. If they still get the humour they will continue to watch it off course the audience missed her for sometime but they started enjoying it again. When Shubhangi Atre entered she picked up everything and did it so well that now it is her fifth year," he said. ALSO READ: Is Nehha Pendse Quitting Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai?
