Bhumika Chheda: 'It's Funny How Celebrities Are Posting Orchestrated Tweets After Rihaana's Tweet On Farmer's Protest'- EXCLUSIVE
Ever since singer Rihanna has called for support to Farmers' Protest and questioned Internet ban in areas where protests are going on, social media is buzzing. Many celebrities have come ahead to tweet about the same. However, TV actress Bhumika Chheda, who is playing Dr. Rabia Ahmed in Sony TV's Story 9 Months Ki, feels otherwise.

Talking to SpotboyE.com, Bhumika Chheda said, "We live in one of the largest democratic countries in the world, yet when one international celebrity (Rihanna) tweets about a protest in our country, the entire system is shaken. It is funny how celebs are suddenly tweeting orchestrated tweets with regards to Farmers Protest now, when they've been actually asking for their rights since 9th August 2020. It only goes to show how shallow the privileged have become." She further added, "I quote John Grisham who rightly said, 'Privileged people don't march and protest. Their world is safe and clean and governed by laws designed to keep them happy' Why do you think only the poor are distressed in our country? And what is even more funny is that, when Rihanna tweeted about it, even then nobody was concerned about the actual matter, including the celebs who lost the plot completely and started talking about external forces interfering in the system. If you speak up for your system on time, with conviction, Rihanna wouldn't have even known about it. Now, that the whole world is aware of it, it only goes to show how powerful a common man's voice can be, in fact, even more powerful than a celebrity who tweets with all the comfort in place." She also went on recalling the pandemic when the poor had to walk miles, "Even during the lockdown, the poor were affected to an extent that they walked miles and were beaten only to get to their own houses. If Indian celebs are so concerned about external forces interfering in our country matters, I am amazed at the speed they were preaching about black lives matter. We need to fix this system, and for that, we all need to be empathetic. We need to raise our voices in matters that affect the country as a whole, and not just the ones that affect us. It is a long process, but I am sure there will be a day when we all will fight for the country and not against the underprivileged."
