Bigg Boss 14 Winner Rubina Dilaik Shares Her Thoughts On Pride Month: Shakti Actress Says 'Hope We Don’t Need A Month Dedicated To The LGBTQIA Community'
TV reality show Bigg Boss 14 winner Rubina Dilaik has time and again spoken up and extended her support to the transgender community. Now as per reports in ETimes TV, the Shakti actress in the Pride Month has mentioned that she has kickstarted an initiative after she realized the hard times this particular community has faced during the COVID-19 pandemic. The actress’ initiative will be raising funds for them. After the actress played a transgender in the TV show, Shakti, she was been closely associated with the transgender community.

She said, “I have started an initiative for the transgender community in the country as I have been closely associated with them for the past five years. When I got in touch with them, I realised they are going through a really hard time during the pandemic. Many of them are struggling for their livelihood. I have started this drive to raise funds for them, the details of which will also be shared on my handle. It is a personal initiative; I just want to do my bit as I have worked closely with them on Shakti..., where a lot of them were employed as actors on the show.”

The actress recalled how it was not easy for her to play this role on TV screen, she remembers being apprehensive about signing the show. In addition it this she revealed it was her husband who suggested her to give a nod to it. She added, “I remember being apprehensive when the role was first offered to me. In fact, I had taken a two-year sabbatical before signing this show to break away from the image of Radhika that I played in Chhoti Bahu. I discussed with my husband (Abhinav Shukla) and he advised me to say yes to the show as he felt that it would be good for me. He was right about that.”

Speaking about how this particular role changed her perspective towards this community, she said, “During my school days I would be wary of them. As a society, it is our fault that we do not give proper information about their community to our kids. Today my perspective has changed to an extent where I would be happy to become their voice.” ALSO READ: Khatron Ke Khiladi 11: OMG, Abhinav Shukla Has The Cutest Nickname For Wifey Rubina Dilaik
