Kannada television actress Chethana, who was best known for her roles in daily soaps such as Geetha and Doresani, died at a private hospital in Bengaluru, Karnataka, where she was admitted for ‘fat-free’ plastic surgery. Reportedly, the actress developed complications as fluid began to accumulate in her lungs, and following this, she passed away at the age of 21. Chethana’s sudden demise due to plastic surgery has left everyone in deep shock, including Rakhi Sawant, who questioned the hospital and doctors, involved in the surgery procedure.
In a video that has gone viral on social media, Rakhi Sawant said she is beyond shocked to hear this news. She also held doctors responsible for the tragedy. Sawant said, “Guys, I am very shocked about Chetna Raj, the Kannada actress who died due to plastic surgery. I want to know aisa kaunsa hospital hai, aise kaunse doctors hai. She was just a 21-year-old. Aisi kaunsi surgery karayi jis mein unki maut hui. This is really shocking. Aisa kabhi hota nahi hai. Yeh doctor ko kis ne degree di. The Bigg Boss contestant went on to suggest to people that if anyone wants to know about a good plastic surgeon they can ask people in Bollywood or can reach out to her. “We will guide you guys. Don't go to anyone and lie down in operation theatre. This is so bad. 21-year-old girl...I don't know which surgery she was getting done,” Rakhi further stated.
On Monday, May 16, Chethana reportedly got herself admitted to Shetty's Cosmetic Centre in Rajajinagar in Bengaluru for a fat-loss surgery without informing her parents. As per reports, the surgery did not go as planned. Anaesthetist Melvin, along with the doctors who had performed the plastic surgery, brought Chethana to Kaade Hospital in the evening and threatened the doctors to treat her as a person who had suffered a cardiac arrest. Chethana’s Parents have lodged a complaint and accused the doctors and hospital of negligence which caused their daughter’s death.
