Dastaan-E-Mohabbat Salim Anarkali: Sonarika Bhadoria, Shahbaz Khan And Others Demand Their Pending Dues; Former To Take Legal Action Against Producers
Dastaan-E-Mohabbat Salim Anarkali actors - Sonarika Bhadoria, Shahbaz Khan, Gurdip Punjj, Tassnim Sheikh and Anand Goradia - have raised their voice for non-payment of their dues. Launched in October 2018, the show had wrapped up in just three months owing to low TRPs. However, the actors have demanded that they must be paid their remuneration, as they have worked on the show for almost six months. While speaking to Etimes, Sonarika, who played Anarkali in the show, stated that the production house owed her Rs 80 lakh, but she has been paid only Rs 7 to 8 lakh.

Thus, she has decided to take the legal route. The report says while Shahbaz, Tassnim and Gurdip have over Rs 10 lakh pending, Anand’s pending dues add up to Rs 5-6 lakh. All these actors have now approached CINTAA (Cine and TV Artistes’ Association) to look into the matter as producer Anirudh Pathak is not responding to them.

Shahbaz, who was seen in the role of Akbar, was quoted as saying, “We had started shooting much before the show launched. It is our hard-earned money and we should get it. Every time we try reaching the producer, he does not respond. We are all going through tough times, some of us sitting at home without work during the pandemic. Personally, I feel that this exploitation has to stop.”

On the other hand, Tassnim said he feels cheated and that he played his part with all diligence, adding, "it’s sad that they have to keep contacting the production house asking for their money.”

Meanwhile, speaking about the actors' pending dues, Anirudh Pathak mentioned that since his show Salim Anarkali was abruptly pulled off air in three months, they incurred huge losses.

“I haven’t refused to pay, but because of the losses I incurred, I had to shut my own production house. Now, I am trying to earn as a writer and pay everyone. It will take time,” he said.
