Dayaben’s real-life marriage spells trouble for her show

Disha Vakani aka Dayaben of popular television show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is enjoying a long break after her recent wedding to Mumbai-based chartered accountant Mayur.

Though it’s the first break the actress has taken in years, her prolonged absence is causing trouble for the show’s makers.
So far, Dayaben’s absence has been explained by saying she is away in Ahmedabad. However, sources say, the team has reached a point where they cannot continue without her anymore.
Disha hasn’t reported on the set for over 20 days now. And this has happened for the first time since the show went on floors in 2008.
Says a source from the production team, “Disha has been shooting non-stop for the last eight years. In fact, she would shoot almost 30 days every month. Even for her wedding in November, she had taken only 10 days’ leave and that too, after creating a bank of episodes by shooting day and night. But now that she has got married, she has demanded regular weekly offs. But what’s wrong with that?”
You go, girl. Nobody can grudge you a vacation after working continuously for eight years.
