Debina Bonnerjee Reveals Why She Opted For IVF To Conceive Her Daughter Lianna; Says, ‘Can’t Waste Time Thinking Why It Is Not Happening’
Debina Bonnerjee opened up about conceiving her daughter Lianna through IVF, a decade after getting married to hubby Gurmeet Choudhary
Renowned television actress Debina Bonnerjee has been baring her heart out about her journey as a mother through her social media interactions and interviews. She is often seen sharing the amazing parts and the taxing and least-spoken moments of being a mom. Blessed with two little munchkins Lianna and Divisha, the actress recently opened up about why she decided to go for IVF (in vitro fertilisation) to conceive her elder daughter.
Talking to ETimes about the same, she revealed that initially the doctors had advised her to go for IUI (intrauterine insemination). Explaining the procedure she explained that her fertile days were calculated, according to which, the doctors gave her a few injections. Even her husband, actor Gurmeet Choudhary had to go through a semen analysis. However, the procedure did not work for her. She added, “I tried it 5 times. The 40-year-old actress added that IVF was her next best option. Quoted by Hindustan Times, she said, “Initially, I was scared but not anymore. When people ask ‘Why IVF transfer’, I would say when something doesn’t happen over a period of time, I can’t waste time thinking why it is not happening. For the unversed, Debina Bonnerjee and Gurmeet Choudhary fell in love while working on Star Plus' Ramayan. They had met each other during a talent show in Mumbai. Slowly, their friendship grew into something more. If reports are to be believed, the couple eloped and got married in 2006. But as they were young, they didn’t inform their parents. One and a half years after officially marrying in 2011, the couple revealed their secret marriage.
They welcomed their first born Lianna in April 2022 and announced their second pregnancy three months after her birth. They became proud parents again to daughter Divisha, who was born premature, in November 2022.
