Fire Breaks Out At Tanazz-Bhaktyar Irani’s Residence; No One Believed The Couple As It Was April Fools’ Day
In an unfortunate incident, TV actors, Tanazz and Bhaktyar Irani’s residence was caught in fire on April 1 at 3:30 am. The couple doused the flames in time and things were under control with the help of their neighbours
April 1 is celebrated as a light day when people often like to fool their near and dear ones. However, it turned out to be a nightmare for TV couple Tanazz and Bhaktyar Irani as fire broke out at the couple’s residence at 3:30 am, when the entire family was fast asleep.
Talking about the incident to Bombay Times,Tanazz said, "Bhakhtyar and I were sleeping in our room, when our house help called me from the children’s room, inquiring about the power cut. I asked Bhakhtyar to look into it and within a few minutes of him stepping out, I heard him scream. He is not the one to panic easily. So, I rushed out, and was shocked to see fire in the passage. There were huge flames and smoke reaching inside the house. Fortunately, our neighbour helped us diffuse it by using blankets and kitchen napkins. Bhakhtyar was a real-life hero; he managed to bring the fire down after working relentlessly for 45 minutes. Thankfully, the fire brigade and police also came in time.”
Tanazz also shared how her friends didn’t believe that an actual fire broke out at her house, considering it was an April Fools’ Day, "We informed our friends and well-wishers about the accident on social media. Given that the incident took place on April 1, many people thought that we were fooling them. Finally, when they realised that we were speaking the truth, they were shocked.”
Moved by the incident, Tanazz concludes by appealing to all to ensure they have proper safety measures at home, "This has been a big lesson for us. Every home should have a fire extinguisher. Now, we don’t have power supply, and I have sent the kids and dog to my mother-in-law’s home, which is close by, to catch up on some sleep.”
