After creating curiosity amongst fans, it has been revealed that Hina Khan is playing the part of Komolika in Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2. The promo of the actress’ introduction was dropped a couple of days ago and has taken the social media by storm. Unlike Komolika of the original (played by Urvashi Dholakia) who experimented with sarees and big bindis, the reboot has Hina dressed in lehenga choli and chunky jewellery. In fact, it is her styling that is receiving praise from all quarters. So who is behind creating this avatar?
SpotboyE.com has it that Devika Mehta, who is the Creative Director at Balaji Telefilms Ltd put together the look. Also, we hear that Hina underwent 3 look tests after which one was picked. Whether it resonates with fans will be proved in time, but there is no denying that it’s a striking look.
With the introduction of Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2’s Komolika, we were curious to know whether Urvashi Dholakia has managed to catch a glimpse. Turns out, the actress has seen the promo and when we asked her whether she approves, she said, “Hina is looking good.” You may recall, in an EXCLUSIVE chat with SpotboyE.com, Urvashi had confessed that Ekta Kapoor (producer of the show) has an eye for detail. She had said, “Ekta (Kapoor) put her trust in me 18 years ago, the same she is doing now on Hina. Ekta has an eye for detail. Ekta has an eye for performers. Like she extracted what she wanted from me, I am sure she will extract it from Hina too. The baton has been passed and I wish Hina 'Good Luck' in all honesty.”
Hina Khan’s look as Komolika has not only fans swooning, but also her friends from the industry are going gaga over the avatar. From Priyank Sharma to Ravi Dubey, all had special messages for the actress. Talking about comparisons with Urvashi, Hina told a tabloid, “As a kid, I would watch the show with my mother, grandmother and aunties. Urvashi and I are two different actors and people. She did a fabulous job and so did Shweta Tiwari, Cezanne Khan and Ronit Roy (Kasautii... protagonists). I don’t believe in comparisons. Each one of us has our own style and times have changed. I don’t want people to compare us but approach it as a new show.”
