The ‘greatest finale ever’ of Indian Idol 12 saw Pawandeep Rajan walking away with the trophy and a cash prize of Rs 25 lakh. Pawandeep was declared as the winner on Sunday night, by host Aditya Narayan. Arunita Kanjilal and Sayli Kamble were announced as the first and second runner-ups of the show, respectively. As Pawandeep and Arunita have always been good friends, in an interview now, he shared what Kanjilal said to him after he won the trophy of Indian Idol 12.
Speaking with indianexpress.com, Pawandeep Rajan was asked what his bestie Arunita told him after his big win. Rajan smiled and said, “We haven’t got much time to speak but on the stage, Arunita said congratulations and that she is really happy for me.”
Arunita and Pawandeep's 'close friendship' has been the talk of the town. While both of them in separate interviews have refuted rumours, fans have been going gaga over their chemistry. They address the duo as #AruDeep.
After winning the trophy, Pawandeep Rajan expressed how he felt. Talking to SpotboyE.com, he said that he wanted everyone to win the trophy. When asked if he expected to win the show, Pawandeep said, “I was not expecting this. The only thing I had in my mind was to sing really well and not disappoint my janta. And now, when they have made me a winner, I am feeling even more responsible. But I am feeling really great that I got to lift this trophy because of them. It's just not a trophy but a prestige for me. The singer also opened up about his further plans. He shared that he wants to sing songs for Bollywood. Pawandeep Rajan hails from Uttarakhand. Indian Idol 12 was his second reality show win, after The Voice in 2015.
