Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has been making the headlines time and again for its mistreatment of actors. After being with the show for over 15 years, actress Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal, who essayed the role of Mrs. Roshan Singh Sodhi, accused producer Asit Kumarr Modi and two others of sexual harassment. She has been leaving no stone unturned to talk about her side of the story.
The entire controversy has left the internet divided. While a section of the internet is requesting the makers to end the show, others have divided themselves between supporting the actress and the producers. Amidst it all, Jennifer has now taken to her official social media handles to share cryptic posts about staying true to oneself and their values. In a recent interaction with AajTak, the actress recalled incidents from the past where the producer had made her uncomfortable with his remarks. She recalled how he would often invite her to drink whiskey with him, after she had once told him about. Things took a turn for the worse, when the team had gone to Singapore in 2019. She said, “During the trip, Asit me to come and drink whiskey in his room. I was surprised to hear this from him. Then a day later he said, ‘you are looking very beautiful, I feel like holding and kissing you. For the unversed, the incident that urged her to take action against the makers of the show happened on March 7. She had informed the makers earlier that she wanted a half day as it was her wedding anniversary and Holi and her daughter was really excited to celebrate the day with her. However, instead of letting her leave, project head Sohail Ramani and executive producer Jatin Bajaj threatened her. They proceeded to send her a notice on March 24 stating that “I left the shoot and they are losing money. This was ulta chor Kotwal ko Dante. They wanted to scare me.” She countered the notice by filing a case against them.
