Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal Was FIRED From TMKOC Due To Her Pregnancy? Former Director Malav Rajda Says, ‘These Things Happen In Asit Bhai’s Cabin’
Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’s former director Malav Rajda has extended his support to Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal by revealing that she wanted to continue working on the show even during her pregnancy
Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has been making the headlines time and again for its mistreatment of actors. Over the years, a lot of actors who have essayed pivotal roles in the show have been replaced and re-replaced by the makers. There was a time in the show when the Sodhi couple was replaced by other actors. In the midst of her legal battle with Asit Kumarr Modi, Project Head Sohil Ramani, and executive producer Jatin Bajaj, reports of being intentionally fired from the show when she was pregnant with her daughter started doing rounds on social media.
Talking about the same, former Taarak Mehta’s director Malav Rajda revealed in an interview that she wanted to continue working on the show even though she was pregnant. However at the time actor Gurucharan Singh, who played Sodhi wasn’t shooting for the show, which led to them replacing Jennifer with another actress as they couldn’t show a pregnant Mrs. Sodhi on the screen. Stating that such matters are always discussed in Modi’s cabin so he has no way of knowing what actually had transpired, Rajda told ETimes, “These are the things that happen between producers and actors. These things happen in Asit bhai’s cabin so I would never know. I know that she wanted to do the show even during her pregnancy, she was willing to work. But then they had their reasons that when Sodhi is not there how will we show her pregnant. That was a different thing. I’ve no idea about the details. Through his interview the director had also dismissed the claims of makers that stated that Jennifer always misbehaved on the set. He spoke about how she always maintained a happy-go-lucky personality on the set and she had befriended almost everyone including the “technical team, direction team, DOP, hair and makeup and her co-stars” on the set.
Talking about her ongoing case, the incident that urged her to take action against the makers of the show happened on March 7. She had informed the makers earlier that she wanted a half day as it was her wedding anniversary and Holi and her daughter was really excited to celebrate the day with her. However, instead of letting her leave, project head Sohail Ramani and executive producer Jatin Bajaj threatened her. According to recent reports, Mumbai police has started an investigation into the complaint of sexual harassment filed by Jennifer against producer Asit Kumarr Modi.
