Jhansi Ki Rani Actor Aamir Rafiq: 'During This Lockdown, I Felt I Had To Start My Journey From Ground Zero'-EXCLUSIVE
Actor Aamir Rafiq, who has been a part of various TV shows like Parmavtar Krishna and Jhansi Ki Rani, recently spoke about how getting work has become difficult for him during the pandemic. The actor said he had to start his journey from ground zero.
Actor Aamir Rafiq has been in the industry for a long time now. More than the lead ones, he has always focussed on doing roles which are of vital importance. He was last seen in Jhansi Ki Rani, playing the character of a British soldier.
When asked about his absence from the screen, Aamir told SpotboyE.com, "The working scene has changed drastically during the lockdown. People are preferring actors staying in Mumbai and coming to Mumbai in that position was a tough task. I was still in my hometown Agra sometime before but I have arrived in Mumbai now. I have been finalised for an OTT project and at the same time, I am in talks for a television show. But the lockdown has affected everyone financially so much that coming to Mumbai just looked impossible sometime before. I felt that I had to start my journey fron ground zero, again." "Earlier I was trying to fetch work here if any shoots are happening in Agra, I worked there for some time and then thought of coming to Mumbai after attaining a sense of financial stability in life. There were many shoots happening there, so I was trying to fetch some roles. But yes, it was a very tough phase," he added. When asked what kind of roles he is looking out for, Aamir said, "I have always been keen on doing roles which are very influential, and play a key importance in the story. The role should be challenging and it should have something to tell the audience. Further at the moment, I am in talks with some of the productions for a lead in an upcoming show. So let's see how it shapes up."
