SpotboyE.com was the first to tell you that Erica Fernandes will play Prerna Basu in the reboot of Ekta Kapoor's Kasautii Zindagii Kay. The young and talented actress revealed her excitement at bagging the part, in an exclusive interview with SpotboyE.com.

Not many know that the lady comes from a humble and down to earth background. She is fiercely independent and self-reliant. Her father’s illness has played an integral role in shaping her personality. Since Erica's dad couldn’t work, her mother started working and Erica had to start taking care of the household and the kitchen. This is where her love of cooking and baking was born.
While conversing with chat show host Himanshu Malhotra, she revealed that she gets her many talents from her parents – her drawing skills come from her dad and her creativity from her mom. “My father was an interior designer for 20 years, so I think I get my creativity from him. And my mother used to have summer camps where she used to teach all of these activities. Plus, I like to use my imagination and try to revamp things,” says the actress.
Talking about bagging the coveted part of Prerna Basu in Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2, Erica had told SpotboyE.com, " My show (Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi) recently went off air, and I guess my performance in it was noticed. Perhaps it showed my conviction, and that was enough for me to land this one (laughs). I'm thrilled and excited but at the same time there is a little pressure. It is a huge show and from my end I will try my level best to live up to the expectations."
Erica added, "Kasautii Zindagii Kay was one of the many K series shows that I grew up watching. And little did I know then that I would be a part of it in the near future."
