since Ekta Kapoor hinted on her Twitter about bringing her successful love
saga, Kasautii Zindagi Kay, starring Shweta Tiwari and Cezzane Khan, back on
television, excitement levels among fans were rocket high. Then the news
of Erica Fernandes, who won millions of hearts with her performance in
Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi, playing Prerna Sharma’s role in the reboot,
excited the fans even further. But do you know that ace producer, Ekta Kapoor
had Erica in her mind, much before she even though of remaking the show.
You read that
right! Ekta Kapoor has revealed how Erica landed as Prerna and no, it was not
through some series of auditions but purely because the actress won TV
czarina’s heart when she made her debut with Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi.
During a media interaction in Kolkata, where the team is currently
shooting, Ekta said, “I think this thing is unbelievable and even Erica doesn’t
know about it. I came for a holiday to Kolkata with 2 of my friends, 2-3 years
back. I remember somebody had put up a promo of Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi on
Facebook. One of my friends and I saw the promo. And I instantly made a call to
someone and asked, ‘who’s this girl?’ They said her name is Erica. I wanted to
cast her since the day I saw her in promo. And then I offered her the show as
soon as hers ended.”
So, now you know how Erica became Prerna Sharma. Ekta was also asked how she
zeroed in Parth Samthaan for Anurag Basu’s role. Did he also have a back story
like Erica’s? To which Ekta replied, “As for Parth, I auditioned many guys
but none had the eyes that speak like his does. I saw his picture and casted
him.” For those unaware, Parth quashed chances of Barun Sobti and Ssharad
Malhotra to bag Anurag’s role in the show.
As for the latest
update on the show, the team visited Kalighat temple, before starting the shoot
in Kolkata. Hina Khan, who plays Komolika will be joining the schedule
next month. The much-awaited show will premiere on Sep 25- a date Ekta
chose for a special reason.
