Nakuul Mehta opens up about why he took to decision to quit Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2
Television actors Nakuul Mehta and Disha Parmar are all set to say goodbye to their ongoing serial Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2. The couple has left the audience mesmerized with their chemistry as Ram and Priya Kapoor for the past year-and-a-half. Owing to the upcoming generation leap, the actors want to pave the way for the new characters. In a recent, interaction Nakuul opened up about his decision to quit the serial.
Talking to Hindustan Times, Nakuul revealed that even though people had their doubts about the show, as it is a reboot of Ram Kapoor and Sakshi Tanwar’s iconic serial with the same name, it has managed to reach out to the audience. He went on to reveal that having been a part of the journey, he feels creatively full and there is nothing more he can offer. ALSO READ: WHAT! The actor said, “The show got a lot of love though many people had doubts when we started as because we took on an iconic show (and remade it). But for it to have the journey and reach out to people the way it has, I think has been truly special. I feel creatively full, having been a part of it for so long. The story is going places and I feel going ahead there’s nothing new I can bring to it. The 39-year-old actor stressed on the fact that he likes to challenge himself. He says that while it is easy stay in a comfort zone, he has the patience to say no and preserve himself for bigger things. He told the publication, “I feel I have paid my dues to the makers and the audiences in the last 18 months. Moreover, you must know when to go and now is the time to go. It is tempting to stay on and continue with a show and receive the love but what more is my question. I look at challenging myself. I have had patience and resilience to say no to a lot of things and preserve myself for bigger things.”
For the unversed, the rumours about Nakuul and Disha quitting the show have been doing rounds on the internet for quite some time. It was being said that the duo was reluctant to play characters far older than their real age. With the generation leap, the story of Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2 will now focus on their daughter Pihu. It is also being said that Hiten Tejwani will enter the show as new character.
