Internet sensation Rakhi Sawant is never afraid to speak her mind, which has often gotten her into a world of trouble. The news of the actress’ arrest made the headlines on Thursday morning, in relation to accusing Sherlyn Chopra of running a ‘sextortion racket’ and using objectionable language against her. A source had even shared that she would be produced in front of the magistrate.

As per recent reports, Rakhi’s bail and arrest have been kept on hold on humanitarian grounds. She left Amboli Police Station on Thursday evening with her husband Adil Khan Durrani. Shedding light on the matter, Sherlyn’s lawyer shared an update with ETimes TV. He said, “Rakhi Sawant has produced a medical certificate of her mother which shows she is in critical condition, based on this and on humanitarian grounds Sherlyn and her lawyer are not pressing for her arrest as of now.” ALSO READ: OMG! The media publication has also quoted a source stating that the Main Hoon Na actress has cooperated with the police during the investigation and has also handed over her phone. The source said, “Amboli police allowed actress Rakhi Sawant to go home. Police say that Rakhi cooperated in the interrogation and has also handed over her mobile phone to us for investigation, so there is no concrete reason to arrest her.”

Sherlyn has informed ETimes that the police have summoned the 44-year-old dancer on Friday, today, for further questioning. She added, “It's not over yet. The police told me that they will continue to call her until the questioning is over. For the unversed, the 38-year-old model had taken to her official social media handle and tweeted about Rakhi’s arrest. She wrote, “BREAKING NEWS!!! AMBOLI POLICE HAS ARRESTED RAKHI SAWANT IN RESPECT OF FIR 883/2022 YESTERDAY, RAKHI SAWANT’S ABA 1870/2022 WAS REJECTED BY MUMBAI SESSIONS COURT.”


This all started when last year, the actresses got into an ugly spat when Rakhi came out in support of #MeToo accused Sajid Khan and slammed Chopra for her statement against the filmmaker. Addressing the media, Rakhi accused Sherlyn of running a Sextortion Racket where she seduces influential people and later blackmails them. She had also called Sherlyn a ‘porn star’ in front of the media and showed her objectionable pictures.
