Kannada actor Samyuktha Hegde recently took to social media to inform fans as she allegedly got harassed by a woman who misbehaved with her friends and her for wearing workout clothes. Samyuktha shared a string of videos and mentioned about the incident that happened with her friends and her for wearing workout clothes, while they worked out in a park. Now, reacting to it, Richa Chadha took to her social media to extend her support to Samyuktha Hegde and voiced her opinion.
On Twitter, Richa Chadha re-tweeted a video from the incident at the park and tweeted in support of Samyuktha Hegde. She tweeted, “retweeted the video and wrote, “Just because you think someone isn’t dressed like they ought to, in YOUR opinion, gives you no right to charge towards them or slap them. Richa Chadha mentioned in her tweet how one person cannot judge another on the basis of how they are dressed. She continued to mention how no person has the right to charge towards another person or slap them just because someone is not dressed like you please. Richa then added how the world doesn’t need more ‘moral policing’ and mentioned how one must behave and concluded talking about how respect is a two-way street.
Meanwhile, in her Instagram post, Samyuktha Hedge wrote, “After being in a democracy and following all the norms of social distancing, we were abused and ridiculed by Kavitha Reddy and the mob in Agara Lake for practising our hula-hoop while wearing sportswear. Despite being polite and trying to solve the problem, the lady hit my friend and used disparaging remarks about me and my friends.” The actress added how she was extremely disappointed with how the police who came to the location behaved, and mentioned that they spoke with the woman with respect, while they asked her to be quiet. Meanwhile, apart from sharing the string of videos on her Instagram account, Samyuktha Hegde also tagged Bengaluru Police on Twitter and requested them to look into the matter. Tagging concerned authorities on Twitter, she wrote, “The future of our country reflects on what we do today. We were abused and ridiculed by Kavitha Reddy at Agara Lake. There are witnesses and more video evidence. I request you to look into this. #thisisWRONG.” Hegde mentioned how what happened with her friends and her at the park was wrong and shared that there are witnesses and more video evidence.
