Mere Dad Ki Dulhan actress Shweta Tiwari's personal life often gets her to remain in the news. In the past, she has accused her husband of domestic violence and ever since then it has been a battle for her. She was earlier married to Raja Chaudhary with whom she separated after nine years. Shweta then married Abhinav Kohli and later separated from him as well. Now, on Monday, to mark the occasion of International Women's Day 2021, Shweta shared a video talking about her struggle.
In the video, she spoke about domestic violence and hoped that her experiences would become a guiding light for daughter Palak. She advised Palak to always stand up for what is right and never stay silent when something goes wrong. "I have been through a lot in life, and at every step when I felt vulnerable, I pulled myself together to gather the courage and stand up for what is right, for the sake of my daughter. She has seen me through the thick and thin of my journey, has only grown up to be stronger today," she said.
Further, she advised Palak to fight her own battles. She said, "They still criticise me for taking a step against domestic violence. But whatever I did, made my daughter intelligent and strong. I just want to tell my daughter, I am always with you, but you need to fight your own battles."
In the end, Shweta Tiwari hoped that her experiences would serve as the guiding light to her daughter Palak. "I may not always be around to be your shield, but I hope my experiences and right actions become a guiding light in your life, where you find the strength and integrity to face any situation. Unless you fight for yourself, people will not believe you," Shweta said in the video. Take a look.
