Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has been entertaining the audience for the past 15 years. Till date the slice-of-life drama enjoys a separate fan base that religiously watch the show everyday. Well, the makers of the show often make it to the headlines, be it talking about their cast being replaced or reports of them not paying their actors. Actor-poet Shailesh Lodha has been on the forefront of those reports. The actor, who quit the show in April 2022, has yet again filed a complaint against producer Asit Kumarr Modi.
As reported by News18, Lodha has sued Modi and his production team for allegedly not paying his dues. It’s been over a year since he was replaced by actor Sachin Shroff, who now plays the titular role of Taarak Mehta. It had been reported that he had filed the complaint in the first week of March 2023. According to the media publication, he has now reached out to the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT). He has initiated a “corporate insolvency resolution” under Section 9. The case will be heard in the month of May. While, Modi has refrained from commenting on the matter, the project head of the television show Sohil Ramani, has revealed that they never denied or refused Lodha his payment. He had said, “Despite repeated communication to sign All Dues document and collect his pending payment, Shailesh Lodha has refused to do it. When you leave any company or show, there is always a procedure that needs to be followed and fulfilled. Every artist, staff or technician needs to do these formalities. No company will release the payment before completing the formalities.”
