TMKOC Producer Asit Kumarr Modi Reveals He Is ‘Tired Of Answering’ If Disha Vakani Will Be Back As Dayaben; Says, ‘She Wants To Be With Her Family’
Asit Kumarr Modi finally reveals that he is looking for a new actor to play the role of Dayaben as Disha Vakani is busy with her family life
Disha Vakani is till date one of the most beloved actors on Indian television. While she left on an indefinite maternity leave in 2017, fans haven’t forgotten her stint as Dayabe in the show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. No matter how many actors and characters were replaced on the slice-of-life drama, her exit has been one of the talked about topics on the internet. Every media appearance, every interview, producer Asit Kumarr Modi has been asked if she will be coming back.
After more than six years of stalling, the producer has finally revealed that they have started looking for an actor who could replace Disha on the show. During an interaction with News18, Modi was asked, ‘When will Dayaben be back?’ He expresses how even if he is “tired of answering and requesting people not to ask this question” he will have to talk about it since he is the producer of the show. He still wishes that their original Dayaben would come back, but since she is a mother of two kids, she wants to spend time with her family. ALSO READ: OMG! He went on to share a fresh update, stating that he has started to look for their new Daya Bhabhi. Quoted by India.com Asit added, “It is not easy to play the role of Dayaben. Everyone knows the way Disha Vakani did it. Even today, she is missed. It is not easy to find a new person for the role. This does not mean I am afraid. I am not afraid but I am looking for perfection. It is impossible to take Disha’s place. Her performance was great but I am finding somebody who can impress everyone with her style. Talking about the show, over the years a lot of actors have been replaced and re-casted. Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is currently the longest running comedy show on Indian television. The show had recently made it to the news for not clearing the dues of their past actor, which was later dismissed by the team.
