Asit Modi’s sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is one of the most-watched and most loved serials of Indian Television. The show has been running for more than a decade now but the two main characters that got extreme love and appreciation among others are Jethalal and Dayaben which are played by Dilip Joshi and Disha Vakani respectively. The two even share a cordial relationship off-screen. Nevertheless, we recently stumbled upon a throwback video of TMKOC stars where Jethalal aka Dilip Joshi was seen getting a little jealous of his co-star Dayaben aka Disha Vakani when she was stealing all the attention.
Pull your horses, it is all in good spirit. The old video in question is from Indian Telly Awards which was being hosted by Ragini Khanna and Karan Grover. During a fun sequence, Karan Grover made a special request to Disha Vakani who was sitting next to Dilip. He said people are crazy about your Garba number and asked if she could oblige him with a romantic dance. Upon agreeing so, we saw the duo perform to Arijit Singh’s Tum Hi Ho from Aashiqui 2. However, the funny twist was a jealous Dilip Joshi stole his onscreen wife Dayaben from him and in true Jethalal style, he said, “Bas bhai, ye toh band hi nahi ho raha hai aapka dance. Koi jaldi se jaldi mil jaye, Popatlal jaisi halat aapki bhi hai. Bhagwan kare Karan ji ko bhi koi mil jaye jaldi toh baki ki ladkio ke sath ye awards karna band karde.”
Disha Vakani too later added and said in her iconic Dayaben voice, “Aapko all the best, jaldi se ladki mil jaye.” Watch the hilarious video below:
